The benefit idea started because one day my friends and I rode skateboards from Richmond to San Jose and it was fun. it took 16 hours and was around 60 miles.We decided to do it again and this time make it into a benefit and do it like a skate a thon. And also to take it in 3 days so more people could do it and so we could do benefit shows each night in 3 different cities.The first year 2009 we supported Adaptive Action Sports http://www.adaptiveactionsports.com and Local Hardcore Kids. 2010 We supported and skated 2 NEW ORGANIZATIONS.1. The Melanoma Research Foundationhttp://www.melanoma.org/2011 BENEFIT DQUTHIS YEARS BENEFIT IS GOING TO THE DQU SCHOOL FOR NATIVE AMERICANS LOCATED IN DAVIS CALIFORNIA. Few people are aware that there are two universities in and near Davis. The "other" one is D-Q University, a tribal community college that has a focus on indigenous peoples. It is the only tribal university in California and faced severe financial and accreditation issues.
